I have a question. Is the quality of polymer clay important while baking? I need to paint all my works because they turn black/darker than were before. Then its needed to glaze coz paint can be easily removed. Or i just bake them too long...
Sorry for my english ;__;

What kind of polymer clay do you use? I use sculpey and sculpey premo. And I notice when I bake them, they are darker while they are hot but then they get back to the colour they are before the baking once the figure cools. Also, sometimes I have parts that are bigger and parts that are smaller. I bake according to the average peice. Like on my mermaids, I bake according to her body and head as opposed to the tail even though it is flat. If there is a dramatic difference, I bake it twice a little at a time. I bake once and let only the smaller parts cool. Then I stick it back into the oven. That way, the bigger pieces start warm and the smaller peice starts over. That way, it is fully baked but not burnt on small parts. I hope that makes sense. And your english is fine. =D Makes perfect sense to me.

I use Astra and don't want to buy super-expensive clay.
I'll try to bake more times. And once shape of the work changed. It was running wolf charm and it was flat at one side. The tail went up (i don't know how to tell it correctly ;__; ) and now it's hard to wear it cause it's not flat. Place where his butt meets tail is thin. Is this problem also from baking?
